Overview

SAGE is innovating around how we might support social science researchers engaging with big data and new technology. We have kicked off with the first of our new product lines supporting this: online courses teaching data science skills to social scientists. This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced team, helping the Digital Learning Specialist to develop and deliver new courses. We’re looking for a well-organised, proactive individual, who constantly looks for the best ways to get the job done.

 

In this position you’ll gain a wealth of experience in eLearning design, development and theory plus a strong knowledge in Learning Management Systems. You’ll learn about the digital learning space, the eLearning industry, best practices and learning technologies.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Working on a competitive landscape document keeping the team updated on industry news
  • Acting as a go between for SAGE Publishing and our platform provider
  • Answer IT requests from customers and troubleshooting queries
  • Be the main point of contact and administrator for our LMS
  • Manage our portfolio of online courses included the management of learners, enrolling them and assigning them courses
  • Testing our online products playing a crucial role in the quality assurance of our products and platforms
  • Assist the team on our learner engagement strategy

Qualifications & Education

  • 6 months experience within an eLearning environment
  • Interest in Learning Technology
  • Basic HTML and CSS proficiency
  • Interest in big data
  • Confident and interested in using new technologies

Language, Reasoning, Analytical & Mathematical Skills

  • Computer literacy –Training will be provided, but you must be confident and experienced with using a computer and unafraid of learning new systems
  • Efficiency – you will need to be able to manage a varied workload involving many different tasks and working across a number of projects. You will need to prioritise effectively and allocate appropriate amounts of time to each task.
  • Accuracy – you will be required to accurately input information into systems
  • A well-organised, proactive individual, who constantly looks for the best ways to get the job done;
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels
  • Able to work in a fast paced team
  • Educated to University degree level
