To support the Online Project Manager in the roll-out of ScholarOne Manuscripts™ and other online peer review platforms to an agreed budgeted number of journals annually.

To support journals already using ScholarOne Manuscripts™ or other online peer review platform as and when queries arise.

To support Journals Editorial Department and Journals Production Department in queries pertaining to our online peer review system.


Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  1. Attends meetings with external and internal journal editors to demo and advise on proper use of their online peer review platform in person and via web-based training
  2. Assists in securing configuration requirements from editors
  3. Assists in site builds, walk through training and testing
  4. Assists in post launch support
  5. Manages and adheres to agreed implementation timelines and reports regularly on progress
  6. Supports department-wide initiatives and projects, as required

Language, Reasoning, Analytical & Mathematical Skills


This position will liaise closely with external vendors, internal journals editorial and production departments, and globally with SAGE’s US and India offices.


Degree of supervision

Commensurate with experience. The Editorial Assistant will work very closely with the Online Project Manager, Peer Review and without the need for high levels of supervision.


Technical competence

Knowledge of journal peer review and submission systems; ScholarOne Manuscripts™ experience desirable but not essential

Computer-literate, understanding of technical details.

Specific online peer review system training shall be provided.


Personal Qualities

Pro-active, acts on own initiative, can juggle priorities, ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with both internal staff and external contacts essential


Working conditions

The pace of work is often high and requires working on a large number of activities simultaneously within tight time pressures.
